A recent industry study showed that the most popular floating grease and odor control products are in fact simply made of straight d-limonene, which is the pure citrus extract. Some customers will not pay this much, so many chemical companies also offer additional products that are d-limonene diluted with mineral spirits or plant oils like pine or grape. PROPERTIES Safe-React 100% D-Limonene mixes with water to form a milky white emulsion, but soon after mixing it separates and floats. This is why it is used in sewage lift stations as a floating degreaser. The product can be combined with water in a sprayer but should be shaken during use to prevent seperation. As with most solvents, dispensing equipment should be rinsed with water after use because long-term contact with d-limonene can erode seals and some container surfaces. (Equipment designed for this type of use such as sprayers with viton gaskets do not require rinsing.) In cleaning applications d-limonene may discolor certain surfaces including some plastics and painted metals; test an inconspicuous area first. We can show you how to use it effectively and even provide you with a custom product. For example, we can formulate a d-limonene-based cleaner that is water soluble.

Safe-React takes advantage of quantity purchasing power of "straight" technical grade d-limonene and we resell it in the packages listed below. We chose the name Safe-React 100% D-Limonene to reflect this because some companies dilute d-limonene (i.e. with mineral spirits) to reduce the end price. Our product name illustrates that we do not mix anything with d-limonene to make it. There is no implication however that our product is more pure than others; in fact due to the nature of the distillation/manufacturing process trace impurities exist in all commonly available d-limonene.
